A wine that listens
to the mountain
Cultivated high in the sacred mountain valleys of Yunnan, 水乳大地 is a testament to what happens when nature is allowed to lead. The intense altitude, dramatic temperature swings, and pristine air create grapes of extraordinary depth — translated into a wine that is both wild and refined.
種植於雲南神聖山谷高處,水乳大地是大自然主導時的證明。極端的海拔、戲劇性的溫差與潔淨的空氣,造出了具有非凡深度的葡萄粒——釀成一款既野生又精緻的葡萄酒。
Aged in clay pots, not oak barrels. This ancient method preserves the wine's natural terroir expression — no added flavour, only the honest voice of the mountain.
以陶罐陳年,而非橡木桶。這種古老方法保留了葡萄酒風土的原真表達——沒有添加的風味,只有山脈誠實的聲音。
Guided by two worlds
Yves Roduit, from Chateau Roduit Winery, a Swiss winemaker, and Helene, a Tibetan woman raised among the mountain vineyards — together they bring a rare philosophy: minimal intervention, no herbicides, and a deep respect for the land.
Each vine yields only 6–8 clusters per season. This is not scarcity by accident. It is devotion by design.
The Person in the Mirror
Designed by Karma, a contemporary Tibetan artist, the label of 水乳大地 is more than decoration — it is a story told in brushstrokes.
This artwork masterfully portrays two roles — traditional and modern — within the parallel universe of a single individual. It tells a story of a soul: one that is hardworking and wise, capable of shining brightly in any environment.
The figure in the painting loves this land deeply; her beautiful long hair transforms into a pure stream, nourishing and connecting her to the land of her ancestors.
This piece also symbolises the collaboration between Chateau Roduit and GutCommon — two vastly different worlds, Tibet and Hong Kong, yet connected by a shared vision.
此畫作亦象徵著 Chateau Roduit 與 GutCommon 的合作——西藏與香港,兩個截然不同的世界,卻由一個共同的視野所連結。
The Palate
Dark Fruit
Blackcurrant
Raspberry
Black Cherry
On the nose: layers of dark fruit — blackcurrant and black cherry — with a whisper of mountain earth beneath.
On the palate: velvety, with a quiet intensity. Raspberry emerges mid-mouth, giving way to a long, lingering finish that carries the altitude with it.
In the glass: deep ruby. A wine that asks you to slow down.

What Makes Yunnan Wine Unique?
Yunnan wine is grown in one of the world's most extraordinary viticultural environments: the Hengduan Mountains of southwestern China, where the Tibetan Plateau meets the subtropics. Vineyards at 1,800–2,800 metres elevation experience intense UV radiation, dramatic diurnal temperature swings, and pristine mountain air — conditions that produce grapes of remarkable phenolic concentration and natural acidity.
Unlike the major Chinese wine regions of Ningxia and Xinjiang, Yunnan's wine culture is small-scale and artisanal, rooted in the traditions of Tibetan and Yi minority communities. 水乳大地, grown at 2,360 metres in the shadow of Meili Snow Mountain, is the region's most compelling expression of this heritage.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Yunnan wine unique?
Yunnan wine is grown at extreme altitude — 1,800 to 2,800 metres — in the Hengduan Mountains of southwestern China. This produces intense UV exposure, large day-night temperature swings, and pristine mountain air, resulting in grapes with exceptional concentration, natural acidity, and mineral character. No other Chinese wine region replicates these conditions.
Where can I buy Chinese wine in Hong Kong?
水乳大地 is available for wholesale and restaurant partnerships through GutCommon. It is currently listed at Rosewood Hong Kong (Carlyle & Co), Mandarin Oriental Wine Bar, and can be purchased online via MyiCellar, Hong Kong's premier online wine merchant.
What grape variety is 水乳大地?
水乳大地 is a Cabernet Sauvignon (赤霞珠), grown at 2,360 metres elevation on the slopes of Meili Snow Mountain in Shangri-La, Yunnan. It is aged in unlined clay pots rather than oak barrels, preserving the pure expression of the mountain terroir.
How many bottles of 水乳大地 are produced each year?
Production is intentionally limited to 5,000 bottles per year, divided among 16 Tibetan farming families. Each vine yields only 6–8 clusters per season — a deliberate low yield that concentrates flavour and ensures the highest possible quality.
